New Planning Applications
The Parish Council is currently consulting on two new planning applications.
Dog Fouling Problems
Once again, reports of people not cleaning up after their dogs have fouled have been received, most notably in Yarn Barton where one particular garden is being plagued with dog mess and on route to Broadwindsor School, outside of the Old George. This is a criminal offence and is totally unacceptable. The Dog Warden has been informed. Contact with dog excrement can cause toxocariasis – a nasty infection that can lead to dizziness, nausea, asthma and even blindness or seizures. Anyone who fails to clear up after their dog can be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice of up to £100. If the case goes to court this could cost the owner or person in charge of the animal up to £1,000. The law states that being unaware a dog has fouled or not having a suitable bag is not a reasonable excuse. You can report dog fouling to Dorset Council by completing a short online form – http://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/…/dog-warden-service…

MUGA
As from Thursday 5 November the MUGA will close for general use. However, the MUGA can be booked by a family unit and/or support bubble for their sole use. People are also allowed under Government guidance, to exercise with one other person from another household outdoors and therefore this can include the use of the MUGA. This booking system was adopted earlier in the year and worked well, allowing for much needed recreational opportunities, close to home. Please contact Councillor Leader (contact details above) for all booking enquiries.
ALLOTMENTS
In line with Government guidance, the Broadwindsor Allotments will remain open for use by Tenants but it is vitally important that advice about social distancing and hygiene is followed.
1. Please do not visit the allotment site if you are self-isolating because a household member has Coronavirus.
2. Please follow Government advice and stay the appropriate distance from others on the site (6 feet away) and minimise contact with each other.
3. It is essential that NO unauthorised persons are allowed on any plot for the duration of this emergency. If you do wish to bring someone to assist with working on the plot, please notify the BAG Chair Sheila Hawkins in advance.
4. If you take your children to the plot, please ensure that they stay within its confines and don’t run around on communal paths and spaces.
5. Where possible, members should use hand sanitiser before opening and closing the site gate.
6. Don’t share your tools.
