Dorothy has lived in Broadwindsor for four years after moving from the North of England, and retirement from a career focussed on supporting families and young children. Her work has included, Deputy Director of The Child Development Programme, based at Bristol University, Inspector for Children’s Services, Sefton Council, Director of a Training Company and Early Years Consultant for Home-Start Chorley and South Ribble. Dorothy is committed to supporting the local community and was involved with a number of voluntary groups in Chorley. Dorothy is currently a volunteer for Broadwindsor Community Shop and the Post Office Club, and a Trustee for Home-Start West Dorset, and feels privileged to have been co-opted on to the Broadwindsor Group Parish Council and is looking forward to making a positive contribution to this community .
