JOB VACANCY: PARISH CLERK &
RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL OFFICER
BROADWINDSOR GROUP PARISH COUNCIL
This is a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference in our community by supporting the work of a progressive and engaged Parish Council.
Overview
- 10–20 hours per week (flexible)
- Work from home, with attendance at monthly meetings
- Pay in line with Local Government pay scales (SCP 13-17, £29,064 – £31,022 pro rata)
- Training provided
- Start as soon as possible
- Interviews: 19 and 20 November
- Apply by Friday 14 November
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing agendas, minutes, and meeting documents
- Managing Council correspondence and enquiries
- Advising the Council on legal, procedural, and policy matters
- Maintaining the Council’s accounts and preparing financial reports
- Managing the annual budget, audits, and VAT returns
- Liaising with Councillors, residents, and partner organisations
- Ensuring compliance with legislation and Council policies
Key Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Confident working with budgets and financial data
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Able to build positive working relationships with a wide range of people
- Previous experience in a similar role would be desirable but not essential
