The Parish Ward of Blackdown is a small group of hamlets which lie at the foot of Blackdown Hill, one of Dorset’s high points from which there are extensive views of the local area. Situated approximately seven miles west of the town of Beaminster, Blackdown is beautiful and unspoilt and provides a real tranquil escape. The Village Hall is a great community asset and is the centre for an abundance of local activities and social functions including harvest suppers, whist drives, weddings and the local Flower Show, which has been held there for over forty years.
