Rick joined the Parish Council in January 2022 to represent the Broadwindsor ward. After a long career as a Lloyd’s of London Reinsurance broker, a position which helped him develop skills in negotiation and collaborative team working, Rick retired and moved to Hursey in 2020. Rick has been a regular volunteer at Broadwindsor Community Store and believes it to be a vital facility for the local community that should be supported and protected. Rick very much feels the same about the White Lion Pub and is a member of the Steering Committee working on the transition to a community run venture. Rick is very interested in environmental issues, whether they be local, national or global and supports many charities. Rick is  actively involved with Cancer Research, being on the committee of the City of London branch of Cancer Research UK and is an ambassador for ‘Hand of’, an arts education charity dedicated to enriching the education of disadvantaged young people through producing events that connect them with their local history with support of professionals from the performing arts .
